Diversity Retreat

The Office of Diversity Programs hosts an annual diversity retreat to bring together administrators, faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and students across all twelve of the University of Virginia’s graduate and professional schools. This retreat provides an opportunity for all to unite to build an inclusive community, share resources, understand gaps, and cultivate ideas. We hope to collectively set action items that can collaboratively be addressed to further enhance graduate and professional education and training.

The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs – Diversity Programs is proud to sponsor the UVA 2024 Diversity Retreat on Saturday, November 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, at the Student Health and Wellness, Multipurpose Room.  We are soliciting your support to increase awareness about this opportunity among graduate students and postdoctoral scholars within your respective UVA schools, departments, office, and network.

The Diversity Retreat addresses the unique needs, concerns, and continued growth of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. This year, our theme will be “One Vision, Many Voices: Navigating Differences and Strengthening Allyship.” Sly Mata, Director of Diversity Education in the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) at UVA, will be our featured keynote speaker.

Mark your calendar, and please join us and enjoy our keynote talk and brunch catering.

Register online at here and RSVP no later than Friday, November 1 at 12:00 Noon.
