Mission

The purpose of the Black Graduate and Professional Student Organization is to cultivate community within the University of Virginia to ultimately lead to the academic achievement of our student members. In other words, BGPSO is a place for us to connect and support each other. We will have numerous events throughout the year and we encourage you to come out and join us!

What We Do

Our signature event is called "Brunch and Banter" where we discuss current events and topics over delicious food! We also host Happy Hours and Social Events and collaborate with various organizations to hold events that discuss unique issues that black students face in academia and beyond. We also provide opportunities for community service and facilitate networking between black graduate students across different disciplines.

Stay connected!
