American Association for University Women (AAUW) American Dissertation Fellowship

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Dissertation Fellowship provides fellowships for eight consecutive weeks to women pursuing full-time study to complete dissertations, conducting postdoctoral research full time or preparing research for publication.The purpose of the Dissertation Fellowship is to offset a scholar’s living expenses while she completes her dissertation.

Roy Scrivner Memorial Research Grants

Lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans (LGBT) people face many challenges in forming, defining and maintaining families.  This program seeks to encourage the study of LGBT family psychology and therapy through its support of promising young investigators whose graduate research is oriented toward issues in this general area.  Preference is given to advanced students who have demonstrated their commitment to this area through their dissertation research plans.

Ford Foundation Predoctoral, Dissertation and Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. Predoctoral, Dissertation, and Postdoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition.

GEM Fellowship

The GEM fellowship program provides MS and Ph.D. level students in science and engineering with full tuition, fees, and an annual stipend provided by a sponsoring GEM University and sponsoring GEM Employer. The fellowship is designed to promote opportunities for individuals to enter industry at the graduate level in areas such as research and development, product development, and other high level technical careers. Candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
