Lighting of the Lawn was founded in the wake of the September 11th attacks to foster unity and inclusion in the UVa and Charlottesville communities, and this original mission rings true today for the 21st Lighting of the Lawn. We look forward to upholding this beloved tradition later this year.
This year’s theme for Lighting of the Lawn is Full Power. The past few years have presented us with many challenges at UVA, yet through it all our community has remained strong. This year, UVA is back to its full potential and there is a renewed energy of excitement that we can all feel. LOTL Full Power is rooted in the power of our community and our resiliency. Above all, it is a celebration of the joy and togetherness that are back to their full capacity on Grounds and in Charlottesville.
