Nnenna Onyima

Nnenna Onyima earned her BA (Hons) from Imo State University, Nigeria, with a 4.48 GPA and a Masters Degree from the University of Virginia. She also participated in Harvard University’s Institute of World Literature at Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, in 2022. Her research interests focus on Black feminist thought, African feminism, women, gender, and sexuality studies, as well as African queer studies. Through a gendered prism, she studies the representation of spirits in African literature and film. Her work interrogates the lived experiences of embodied spirits in precolonial, colonial, and postcolonial sub-Saharan African narratives.
