ABF/AccessLex Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Legal & Higher Education

Pending budgetary approval, the American Bar Foundation (ABF), in partnership with AccessLex Institute, is committed to developing the next generation of scholars interested in empirical and interdisciplinary research on legal and higher education through one post-doctoral fellowship. The purpose of the fellowship is to assist emerging scholars who are studying issues of access, affordability, or value in legal and higher education.

ABF/National Science Foundation Doctoral Fellowship Program in Law & Inequality

Pending budgetary approval, The American Bar Foundation (ABF) and the National Science Foundation will support one pre-doctoral fellowship. The ABF is committed to developing the next generation of scholars in the field of law and social science. The purpose of this fellowship is to encourage original and significant empirical and interdisciplinary research on the study of law and inequality.

Faculty Scholar in The ABF/JPB Foundation Access to Justice Scholars Program

The American Bar Foundation (ABF) and The JPB Foundation invite scholars interested in studying access to justice to join the ABF’s intellectual community for The ABF/JPB Foundation Access to Justice Scholars Program. The goal of this program is to expand empirical access to justice scholarship by encouraging scholars to engage with this bourgeoning research field.

Ford Foundation Fellowship Program

The Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. Predoctoral, Dissertation, and Postdoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on behalf of the Ford Foundation.

American Association for University Women (AAUW) American Dissertation Fellowship

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Dissertation Fellowship provides fellowships for eight consecutive weeks to women pursuing full-time study to complete dissertations, conducting postdoctoral research full time or preparing research for publication.The purpose of the Dissertation Fellowship is to offset a scholar’s living expenses while she completes her dissertation.

Roy Scrivner Memorial Research Grants

Lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans (LGBT) people face many challenges in forming, defining and maintaining families.  This program seeks to encourage the study of LGBT family psychology and therapy through its support of promising young investigators whose graduate research is oriented toward issues in this general area.  Preference is given to advanced students who have demonstrated their commitment to this area through their dissertation research plans.
